Breakfast of Champions

It's Monday! Yikes! But we need to feel good and go to work.

I woke up early like every morning, put on my exercise clothes and did my morning walk with my dog, some push ups and off we go. It is a rainy day, apparently Tropical Storm Irene became a hurricane during the night and is coming to Florida in the next two days...

I need to feel good, I like to exercise.. I have to go to work and I though it would be interesting to share part of my breakfast :)

These are the vitamins I take:

Orenda Internation Female Vitamins
Omega 7
Essencial Oil
Resveratol
FIsh Oil

My husband makes fun of me for taking so many vitamins but the reality is that he gets sick all the time and I never do. (knock on wood )

  2. I love vitamins and supplements. I've looked into Salmon Oil but I haven't tried it yet. I can't quite recall the reasons it is better than the regular fish oil.lol

  3. hmmm...your husband teaches and coaches over 100 kids per day - might that be the reason?

  5. hmmm... i thought exposure to germs (ie 100+ kids) was supposed to make your immune system more resilient? i believe it's called the germ theory.

  9. More like the theory of creation...but accept anything as fact and if you live long enough you will be proven wrong...most people weren't expecting SARS, but as humans increasingly move into the spaces inhabited by animals we will also be subject to new viruses (Aids began with monkeys), as viruses are living organisms striving to live as well and they mutate to fight off death...then again, I could just point out that every hospital, restaurant and Cvs promotes clean hands because contact between humans in "theory" enables viruses to move from one host to another...quarantine is a viable solution to quickly spreading diseases as determined by the World Health Organization because it is understood (theoretically, of course) that history has taught us that viruses can and do kill and new viruses without researched vaccines to stem their spread are deadly...but I'm sure some homeopathic rosehips and a little eye of newt can cure most anything.

  10. viruses can indeed kill, but since they don't necessarily kill everyone who comes into contact with them, there has to be a significant difference between those they kill and those they don't. this is the reason why limited vaccines are rationed according to need. it is true that among those of priority need are individuals working in hospitals and in contact with loads of people... but this is also for the safety of the public. the idea of the germ theory is most relevant to allergies --BUT the idea i was going for is that controlled exposure to germs can help build your immune system, just as some vaccines help build antibodies against the disease by exposing you to a controlled amount of that disease; just as it is appropriate for parents to allow their infants to crawl on the floor or to put their hands into their mouths (again, in a controlled manner). i suppose there is most support for this idea in youth though --perhaps i was unconsciously drawing a parallel between both extremes in age (a 'shap lecture'? --only joking).
i do believe there is ample research behind homeopathic treatments but in this case, i don't think this theory is homeopathic. i wouldn't underestimate homeopathic remedies though, even if only b/c a person relates them to their health... have you heard of arthur kleinman's disease and illness model?
